Breaking Barriers

The Manhattan project was the making of the first atomic bomb. There were three challenges the scientists and engineers were facing. First was if it was possible to make uranium into nuclear energy. Before the project, nuclear reactions were just an abstract theory.  Second was if technological engineering of the bomb was possible in time to be used in the war.  Third it was a race against time. Our adversaries in World War II (WWII) were also working on developing a nuclear weapon.
